Hey everyone! It’s about time I fill you in on what we’ve been up to here in Costa. Ministry has been great so far! We’ve had so many opportunities to grow and be disciples by The Hope Project. That’s one of the reasons we love this ministry so much… not only are we able to pour out but we’re constantly being poured into and encouraged. Ministry looks different everyday but we have two schedules we roughly follow. We rotate weekly between morning and night ministry.

Morning Ministry

9:00- Bus Ride to San José

9:30- Morning Run through of what needs to be done for the day/week

10-12: Outreach time!

This is different everyday but usually we take a walk to the parks in San José and evangelize for awhile. This is such a cool opportunity to meet locals, share the Gospel, and invite people into The Hope Project. Then we split into groups for different areas of ministry. This includes English Club, Waves of Grace, The Refuge, and hospitality. My team has been helping with English Club this week and it’s been so fun to form relationships and learn more about the people who participate. Waves of Grace is a bracelet making class where we create a devotional to share and have time to talk to the ladies that join. The Refuge is a pregnant center that women can come to for counseling. Our team helps out with the children while their moms are in counseling. (The Refuge is my favorite!) Hospitality is cleaning up the center, preparing classes, making coffee, and all things that involve hosting.

12-1: Lunch Time! Sometimes we only have a few minutes to eat, other days we have an hour, it just depends on the day. We always bring a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and an apple. On days where we have more time and want to treat ourselves we get burritos from our favorite restaurant next to the center.

1-2:30: Hospitality/Prep/ Hang out with Luis and Pablo (volunteers at the project who quickly became our best friends)

2:30-3:30- Discipleship

This is one if my favorite parts of ministry! Our ministry host Micah leads Discipleship and talks about a different topic everyday. He has the best stories and always brings a good word! He also sometimes brings his daughter, Ziza, who is truly a blessing (and reminds me of Alessia). Ziza likes to sit on my lap, play on my phone, eat her cheetos, and facetime Alessia.

4:00 Bus ride home from ministry. Once we’re home we’re usually pretty exhausted so we eat dinner, hang out, shower, and have team time.

Night Ministry

2:30-3:30- Discipleship

3:30-5:00- Outreach time!

Outreach looks a little different at night, but we still start with evangelism. Different classes include English Club, Waves of Grace, and House of Raw (dance). Dance ministry is different every time but we’ve taken dancehall, popping, salsa, shuffle, and hip hop. Dance is definitely not my strongest part of ministry but the Lord has taught me a lot through it!

5:00-5:30- Dinner time (pb&j and apples)

5:30-8:00- More outreach!

This could be dance classes, english club, or time to make relationships with staff. We’ve grown really close to a lot of people at the center and we’re able to pour into each other. I’m going to make another blog introducing our new friends! We also like to incorporate worship into our days so sometimes we break out into song and prayer lol!

8:00- Bus ride home

By this point we’re super tired and usually shower, have team time, eat some more beans and rice, and go to bed.

Thanks for reading and following along with me on this journey! I really approached all the support, I wouldn’t be here without YOU! It makes my day whenever I read your comments!! I don’t always have service to respond but I want to let you know I really love reading them and hearing your thoughts! Thanks again! See ya soon!
