Traveling the world, living with all your best friends, serving others… sounds perfect right? Signing up for the race I knew my life was going to be changed but not in the way I expected. I’m kinda embarrassed to admit I thought everyday would be happy and living in community would solve any feelings of loneliness. Don’t get me wrong I’ve had the time of my life and living with 30 people is a blessing, but it’s not all I imagined.

It’s been hard to show what we’re doing here because we can’t show pictures or share stories with too much detail due to safety reasons (our first priority is respecting the locals and keeping their information safe). This can be hard to keep my supporters updated so I hope you all understand. If anyone would like more intimate or detailed stories feel free to email me and I’d love to share.

Ministry is hard. I often struggle to get out of bed and get ready because I’m still tired from the day before. This Northern girl still isn’t used to the heat and humidity lol. I need to remind myself to serve out of overflow which means spending time with the Lord (even when I would rather just sleep all day, I’ve seen how He provides more energy). It’s been amazing getting to know people from the communities here and learn about how they live and how they view the Lord. Some days are filled with laughs and singing; others are filled with tears and heavy conversations. Both days are fruitful but require surrender snd giving everything back to the Lord for His glory. Ministry rarely looks like what you see on social media. BUT it is so evident how the Lord is working in each and every person we have the opportunity to talk to. That’s what makes it all worth it- the smile on someone’s face when we get to laugh with them and share funny stories, eyes filled with tears as we pray, jump roping contests with the kiddos. God shows Himself in so many ways!

We’re down to our last month of the race. Wow! Thank you so much for all of the support, I’m forever grateful <3 You can continue to pray for our squads health and safety, and that everyone we speak to feels the Lord’s presence so strongly. Talk soon!
