Sooooo big news… I’m moving to Georgia?!

These past few months have been crazy. We’ve lived through a global pandemic, chaos/ frustration throughout our country, and not to mention I finally graduated high school (praise God). With all the uncertainty in the world the one thing that will always remain the same is God’s love and grace towards us. No matter what changes the world throws our way we can find peace in knowing He’s got it under control. With all that said, I’m excited to announce the new plan God has for me:

Last week my squad received the news- we will not be traveling internationally in September. Sadness and disappointment creeped in at first but also excitement for my unknown future. We were given a few different options as to how to approach this change. One option was to continue with the World Race and spend our first 3 months in Georgia. Other options were to go on a semester trip with WR launching in January, or all together drop the WR. It’s been hard seeing squadmates leave but I’m so proud of them for listening to God’s calling and I can’t wait to see where he leads them.

After lots of prayer I made the decision to continue on my journey! Our advisor Drew shared some wise words on our last zoom, “God placed you on this path knowing this would happen”. Those words really spoke to me…God knew exactly what would happen when I signed up and was accepted into the WR. He knew we would not be able to travel internationally in September, yet He has continued to provide in many ways. He has provided for me spiritually and financially. Spiritually- with a great Christian community who I now call family, leaders who guide us support us, and an even bigger heart for those in need. Financially- my trip is 50% funded!

There have been a lot of changes for those of us who have decided to stay with the World Race in September. We will be staying at AIM’s base in Georgia from September to December and then traveling overseas in January. While we are in Georgia we will have missional training, leadership development, and discipleship. This means our time abroad will be 5 months instead of 9. The countries we planned on going to may be different, but we are confident God will take us where He needs us most. I know that God’s plan is ALWAYS better than the plan we have for ourselves… so if going to Georgia is what He has in store for me then I’m all in! I think this will be the perfect opportunity to grow my faith and form better relationships with my squad.

With all that said I still need to fundraise for my trip. I’m SO thankful for everyone who has supported me this far. I’ve hit the half way mark- only $7,000 more and I’ll be fully funded! YAY! I would love to be fully funded by September so I don’t need to worry about funds while on the field (especially with our lack of wifi). If you would like to join me in support I appreciate your prayer requests, and if you would like to support me financially you can donate anytime directly on my blog. Thank you so much again!! Feel free to reach out with any questions 🙂

Heres a little preview of what our gap year will look like now!
