We’ve been in Georgia for 3 weeks! Wow! It’s so evident God is working here! Now that we have more of a routine I thought I’d share what an average day looks like.

Monday-Friday:

8am- Meet at pavilion for breakfast. Usually breakfast looks like eggs or oatmeal and fruit.

9am- Devos. Our leaders take turns leading devotionals every morning so we get to see different styles of reading the Word.

10am- Session. Each morning is different but sessions typically last about an hour and then we have time to pray/process with our teams.

12pm- Temp checks. Gotta stay healthy & Covid free!

12:30pm- Lunch. Usually lunch is some combination or rice and beans. My personal favorite is taco Tuesday!

1:30pm- Rotations. This could include showers, cleaning, laundry, sports. So far my favorite rotation has been sports- my squadmate Brent & I lead yoga for our squad! My least favorite has been cleaning porta potties. Also praise the Lord we are no longer taking bucket showers, we have hot water woohoo!

3:00pm: Free Time. AKA my favorite part of the day. Our squad is big on quality time so we typically hang out in our hammocks or we play spikeball and uno. We don’t have our phones during the week which has been a blessing in disguise because we have so much time to get to know each other.

5:30pm: Dinner. Meals look different everyday but dinner usually consists of meat and rice. We all look forward to Sunday’s pizza night!

6:30pm: Team Time. Our squad (38 people) is divided into 6 smaller teams. We meet in our teams everyday to process/ discuss whatever’s on our mind. Each day of the week has a different theme.

Monday= Bible Project Video, Tuesday= fun time (games), Wednesday= gratitude, Thursday= feedback (giving affirmative & constructive feedback to our teammates to keep each other accountable & bring each other closer to God), Friday= debrief.

7:30pm: Free time. Most nights this is when we are scheduled to shower. After showers we have the rest of the night for whatever we need. I’ve found that I need time in solitude with the Lord to process my day. Usually I’ll go for a walk in the woods, listen to worship music, and journal. Then I’ll join my squad inside to hang out. Fridays = movie nights and I’m super thankful for a community who loves Disney movies as much as I do! It makes me feel closer to home but also makes me miss Alessia a lot more so then I spend the rest of the night facetiming her haha.

9:45pm: Quiet hours. We brush our teeth, wash our face, make our last porta potty run (or pee in the woods). Morgan and I usually go for a walk to debrief the day before we get cozy in our tents.

10pm: Lights out! Sometimes I’ll get caught up on social media or organize my tent but most nights I’m mentally/physically exhausted and pass out the second I get in my sleeping bag.

Weekends:

Rest Days! Sabbath!

Saturday: Quiet hours from breakfast-lunch and then free time the rest of the day. This is when I find a nice patch of grass without fire ants or sit next to our sewer pond in the woods. Despite the sarcasm this is my favorite time to sit with the Lord and go through my notes from the week!

Sunday: Church! Each team takes a turn leading church (my team hasn’t led yet). This is the one day out of the week we try to wear clean clothes, put on a long skirt, and do our hair. Then after lunch we put sweats back on and relax the rest of the day!

Hope you enjoyed getting a look into life in Georgia! I also have an exciting announcement… WE’RE GOING TO LOUISIANA?! Our squad will be partnering with Samaritans Purse for a week in October to help with disaster relief. We don’t know exactly what we’ll be doing yet but we’re so excited! You can be praying that we reach the hearts of those we meet! I also have to raise $900 before October in order to continue serving with my squad. If you’d like to financially support me you can donate directly on my blog. Thank you so much! God bless!
