Hey!! It’s been awhile, how are you? As you all know, I’m not on the race anymore but I still have this blog so I thought I’d share an update! My last update was after I came home from the race and got ENGAGED?! A lot has been going on since then so here it is!

– I moved to South Carolina! After months of long distance in different countries and then states, I decided to move down south where Max lives. I’ve been here for about 4 months now and I’m finally starting to get settled in. I’m going to school in Greenville and studying Early Childhood Education (for now). This season has been filled with a lot of thanks to God, but also a lot of hard times and growth. God has been teaching me how to live for Him and share His love while being in the states- it’s surprisingly a lot harder than overseas for me. I’m so blessed to get to see Max everyday and grow together with Christ at the center. I’ve been learning how to balance being a fiancé with all other aspects of life (friends, school, work). We’ve also been planning the wedding! Wow so many things!

–  Although I’m not on the race anymore, I’ve had the opportunity to serve with AIM (Adventures in Missions) a lot! I spent a week in September on AIM’s campus when this years racers first arrived. I got to see all the behind the scenes action serving in the kitchen. We helped make breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the racers and helped organize their daily activities. During serve team I got to see my squadmates who are now team leaders and got to stay with some of my friends who are currently in AIM’s discipleship school. I even got to hang out with my best friend Moose aka Morgan, who most of you know!! This was the greatest blessing for me! I’ve struggled grieving the race and have spent a lot of days in my dorm missing my friends and reminiscing on our pictures/memories. This is a whole separate blog I could go into details on if anyone is interested.

Max and I also got to serve with AIM and Samaritans Purse. You might remember when we went to Louisiana last year to serve with hurricane relief. Max and I had the opportunity to go back to LA and serve with one of the World Race squads! We spent the week mudding out houses, cutting down trees, tarping roofs, and getting to know the homeowners. We had so many great conversations and were able to spend time with racers before they went off to serve in Romania. You can be praying for this squad as they begin ministry in Romania, you can also be praying for the squads in Guatemala and Costa Rica. Pray for unity throughout their teams, servant hearts, as well as energy and joy while they serve God’s people!

– Max and I have also been traveling a lot! Pretty much every weekend has consisted of road trips and new adventures for us. We’ve been visiting family and meeting new family. My family got to visit when I first moved down and it was so fun showing them around. We’ve also been planning our wedding, and wow is that a lot of work! In any free time we’ve had we’ve enjoyed stepping into new community here in South Carolina. We’ve been going to a great church right here in Greenville… shoutout LifePoint! Our friend Wesley (who was on our squad) and his family live here and have been going to LifePoint for a long time. It’s been awesome getting to know them more and step into fellowship with them! You might also remember my teammate Chloe, she recently got engaged and they were both also on our squad! Woohoo! She goes to Clemson only about 40mins from me, and it’s been such a blessing going through this season of life together! Praise God for life long friendships!

That’s most of the updates I can think of for now. Life has been super busy. Still trying to figure out how to balance all these new responsibilities and opportunities!

Here’s how you can be praying for me:

-My transition living here… I think I’ve had more ‘culture shock’ being down south than I ever had overseas lol

-Motivation for school and following God’s plan for me, whatever that is

-Me and Max <3! That we continue to grow closer to each other and God.

-Focusing on the present instead of dwelling too much on the future

-Keeping up with and pouring into family & friendships (here and long distance)

How can I be praying for you?? Feel free to reach out anytime. Stay tuned for my next blog coming soon… I have some projects I’m excited to share!! God bless!

  1. Becca, Ministering overseas you are not bombarded with all the things that life throws at you. You are there for the reason of sharing Christ. Remember that, even though you are in the states focus on that same reason. Everything else is just fluff. Looking forward to hearing about what the future holds for both you and Max. Enjoy every moment. Love, Dale

  2. i am so proud of my bestie boo. the constant pursuit of the Father in the mundane and loving and serving the people around you even when its hard. i love you so much

  4. Becca! I loved reading every word of this. You are a BLESSING, and I’m thrilled that we get to walk this season together. LifePoint is happy to have you!!! The south IS such a shocker (bless your heart!) but hang in there because the sunny skies and flip-flops will win your heart. ?? May the Lord fill your days and your heart with a sense of wonder as you see Him moving right here, right now.
